[Daneca is looking for Scott and Cassel. She goes looking for Scott first, however. He told her that he was hunkering down in the infirmary and the moment all of the noises outside her cabin stop, Daneca makes a beeline for the infirmary in that direction. Of course, by then, Scott's gone. She could just make a post to the network to try and track him and Cassel both down, but Daneca isn't thinking entirely clearly. She just wants to find them and make sure they're okay. Somehow, she manages to keep it to a fast walk.]
[She makes her way through the halls and knocks on each of their cabins.]
[Once Daneca has managed to find Scott and Cassel, she makes her way up to the deck, moving into the garden to just sit in the quiet for a while.]
private - stiles.
So I realize this is possibly not a good time, but um, I thought that we should talk. Since I know that Scott told you about me. About what I can do, I mean.
[A beat.]
And he probably already told you that I know, too.
[Scott probably really can't keep anything from Stiles.]
I just wanted to say thank you. For not telling anybody else. It means a lot because while I know you and Scott are best friends and you'd take each other's secrets to the grave, you still don't owe me anything. You didn't have to keep that secret.
So thank you.

[awkward girlfriend infirmary spam]
It was miserable, but she wasn't complaining. She was making a point of not complaining. She was smiling for her friends, laughing, and moving more than she could actually tolerate to keep them from worrying more than they already were. The looks she'd seen when she first woke up...
She was trying to take a nap and failing when someone came into the infirmary, a pretty girl with dark hair who looked about her age. Opening her eyes and rolling her head to the side, Allison was pale and haggard looking, her frown of concern only making her look worse as she spoke, voice thin and taut with pain.]
Are you looking for someone?
[the best kind of spam]
[Still, she won't be rude. She smiles, weakly, and speaks softly if only out of concern that she doesn't want to disturb anyone else or wake this girl up too much.]
Yeah, I'm looking for Scott. You haven't seen him, have you?
[the best kind of spam]
...except he's not. He hasn't wandered far from her side since she woke up, none of the pack have, but she finally got bitchy about it. He must have snuck out while she was dozing...sneaky Alpha jerk.
The thought comes with fondness, though, as she huffs, hoping he went to get some sleep of some food.]
He was here earlier...I don't actually know how long it's been. [Her head rolls back towards the new girl as she wrinkles her nose.] I tried to sit up without help earlier...nearly blacked out from the pain. I was being a brat, I guess.
[Her expression sobers and grows vaguely cold, her voice quiet.] I've never been dead before.
[spam]
I haven't either, [she says.] The deathtoll... It's always sucked, but it never used to be this bad. I don't know what changed to make it like this.
[Daneca shakes her head a little. She knows that's probably not the most helpful thing to say, but she would like to believe if it could be changed like this, it could change to something better.]
Is there anything I can get you or do for you?
[That is probably a little more helpful even if Allison might be sick of hearing that from people for one day.]

Because this wasn't going to be the last time she was going to die.
She rolled her head towards the girl as she sat down, noting the gloves she wore with some curiosity. She seemed nice enough, and she was friends with Scott...Allison decided she liked her.
She shrugged at her question, wincing as she did. Swallowing thickly past the way the pain tightened her throat, she shook her head.]
I'm fine, but thanks. I appreciate it. [She pauses, then narrows her eyes into slits with a shadow of a smile.] There is one thing...if Scott hasn't eaten when you find him? Smack him upside the head for me. Then feed him. If you're a friend of his, you can get away with it.

You must be from Beacon Hills then. How long have you known Scott?
[spam]
Stiles had known him longer than anyone, even Lydia, but she...knew Scott. And now someone else was going to know him that way. Now...it wasn't a passing of the torch, a matter of trusting him with someone. She'd lost him. For good.]
A while. [Her voice is quiet, sobering as she rolls her head to look up at the ceiling again.] We...dated.
[spam]
[Scott has never mentioned anyone else he's dated except for Allison. It has to be her. If it were anybody else, anyone at all, she doesn't think she'd react this way. But she's seen the way Scott talked about her in the past, when she wasn't just a ghost for him. And she's seen him talk about her when the loss was sudden and raw for him, too.]
[Daneca doesn't think that Scott is still in love with Allison, but he definitely still loves her and will likely never stop loving her. Something like that, you don't simply lose overnight. Daneca doesn't have anything to compare - what she had with Barron was too short-lived to grow like that and Sam threw her away like she was trash, only wanting her back when he thought he couldn't have her anymore - but she knows enough in the way Allison's very name affects Scott, that's just how things are.]
[It's not threatening though to Daneca. Even if turned out that he was still in love with Allison, she wouldn't feel threatened by it because that's the person that Scott is and she wouldn't change that about him for anything in the world. But that doesn't stop something from being there that Daneca doesn't have to quite live up to or impress, but needs...validation. She needs Allison to be okay with her. She doesn't need her to like her or to even want her to be with Scott (although she would be thrilled with the former), but she needs things to be okay.]
[Daneca swallows and looks down at the floor, giving herself a moment to wipe the stupid look off her face before looking at Allison again.]
You're Allison then. [Her smile is much smaller, much more timid.] I'm...I'm Daneca.

Still puzzling over it, she offers Daneca her hand, her smile breaking with a wince and a soft sound of discomfort...but goddamnit she's shaking her hand.
She hates being this feeble and helpless.]
Nice to meet you...and whatever you've heard about me is an exaggeration, I promise you. Scott...likes to build people up. So does Lydia, if you know her. Stiles is just...well...Stiles.
[spam]
I uh... I don't think Scott was building you up. I mean, I obviously don't know you that well, but I don't think he'd lie. You're important to him.
[Daneca knows she should probably mention that she's dating him now. The longer she waits, the more awkward and more difficult it will be to say so, but it's not something that just rolls off the tip of your tongue.]
[spam]
Instead, she rolls her eyes, still smiling wearily.]
It's not a lie, not to Scott. He just has a habit of seeing good in everyone...even if it's tiny. Like...a cluster of cells tiny.
[She pauses to measure out the tiniest space she can between thumb and forefinger, hoping to make the other girl relax. She's just so uncertain now, so tense, and there's something about it that's really bothering her. She hides it, though, as her smile turns curious.]
So, are you and Scott...close? [In the back of her mind, something is latching onto the truth. The rest of her is blind to it, ignoring it, because she's already in enough pain. She just put this behind her, and she's just not strong enough to have to face it again quite so soon.
Daneca's unease bothers her. She doesn't know why. And she won't know why, so long as she doesn't have to say it...or hear it...]
[spam]
Uh yeah. We are. We um.
[Say it, Daneca.]
[Daneca draws a deep breath and just narrowly avoids just blurting it out.]
We're dating. [She glances down at her hands in her lap.] I'm sorry, I probably should have said something about it sooner. I just... I didn't want things to be super awkward, but I guess I kinda screwed that up a little bit.
