That was a little bit of a weird experience. But it was... I don't know, compared to some of the other things that happen on the Barge, it wasn't that bad.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I don't just turn invisible like that, but I think it's natural to wonder about alternate universes. It was kinda cool to see at least one.

Okay, well, for starters? Whatever you do during floods like that? It's definitely not your fault. I know it's really hard to think of it that way, but it's really not your fault what you did. You thought you were and kinda actually were a different person than who you are normally. I know it's easier said than actually believing, but you gotta try.

It's the only way you'll bounce back from stuff like this.

But trust me. On the grand scale of things you could've done with your curse, you weren't the worst of the worst. What you were doing was just a symptom of a larger problem back home.

Someone who-- generally, I would count as a friend, threatened to cut off my hands. I feel very warmly towards her, and she was not herself, but--

I cannot shake my discomfort around her, and equally, I cannot expect anyone to be easy around me, now that it is done.

You are very well informed upon this matter. It felt... I felt as though most people did not feel so kindly towards workers as the way you speak indicates.

[Daneca can't tell him what to feel and she isn't about to tell someone that if they're uncomfortable that they shouldn't listen to that instinct. He'll work it out on his own sooner or later, she thinks. And if he really needs to talk about it, he'll confide in someone he trusts more than her.]

They don't. In America, working is illegal and at worst they'll toss you in jail for it. But other places, it's way worse. People lose their limbs and lives because of it.
