Realistically speaking, Daneca knows she should probably be more anxious over a potential serial killer running around than the prospect of speaking to Cassel again, but that's what gives her more pause than anything. (At least she's not totally surprised by the idea of a serial killer on the Barge, she figures. Still in the realm of sanity for now.) She thinks maybe she should send him a private message or try to find him and speak one-on-one, in private. But that seems like too much even for her right now.]

[So, she settles for just introducing herself to everyone else. If he wants to talk to her, he can. If not...]

[Well, he doesn't have to. It's not like Cassel owes her anything anyway.]

[With that resolved, she can go back to being properly more anxious about people turning up dead, zombies, and vampires. And apparently also werewolves being real as well.]

[Daneca appears a little stiff and tense. Being on camera and broadcasting like this makes her a little nervous in ways that are harder to cover up than other things that make her nervous or uncomfortable. But it doesn't paralyze her or make her smile seem like a disingenous cover for nerves that ends up looking more scary than pleasant. Daneca is not someone who can lie very well. It's nervous and small, but her smile is no less sincere. She's trying desperately to channel her mother right now.]

I know I'm coming in at a really bad time, but I thought I should probably introduce myself anyway. My name is Daneca and I'm new. [She flushes a little and says a little softer:] Obviously.

[She shifts a little uncomfortably and finds the strength in her voice again.]

I'm a warden for anyone that might matter to.

[She's sure it does especially to some of the inmates. She'll lie about other parts about herself anyway. Might as well be honest about some things that might make people uncomfortable.]

Anyway, I guess I'm just looking for a tour. Or advice. Whatever anybody can spare.

Worrying, certainly, but nothing conclusive has been found either way.

We can start the tour here. Most of the areas above deck are warden-only, or require a warden item to open.

Is it just the warden items themselves that open things up? Or does it have to be a warden using the items?

The items themselves. That's why it's very important you don't misplace yours!

[She scurries over to the CES door.]

[So, instead of asking what Chromie is referring to, she gives opening it a shot. She hesitates though at stepping inside when it does open.]

What's in there? Swamp Thing isn't going to come after me or something, right?

Not unless it decides to be a swamp today! The CES generates random environments that seem very real! It's like a little piece of the outdoors.

How does it do it?

[Daneca slowly steps inside. It's the quad at Wallingford though notably a lot emptier without students hanging around studying.]

Is it magic?

I assume so!

[Chromie lingers in the doorway. Lots of other stuff to see, after all!]

[Daneca shakes her head and steps back out onto the Barge.]

Is it? I haven't seen many movies. It is remarkable, though!

No, we don't have any on my world! All the ones I've seen are here.

[She wanders to the pub door.]

This is the pub! Another warden area. It does basically what you would expect it to!

The garden is over here. It also does what you would expect it to! Some residents are very protective of it.

I guess I can understand that. This place does just seem to be a giant hunk of metal otherwise.

Yes. Ports provide a nice break if you're willing to risk the giant scorpions...

Yes, or organ harvesters. The Admiral often docks us in places that are very dangerous with little or no warning. I don't like it very much.

Hm. So this is a pool. For swimming in. There is a spa attached - I haven't been myself, but I have heard it is very enjoyable.

There's a spa on a prison ship.

I prefer to think of it as a rehabilitation center.

Do the inmates see it that way?

Inmates all have different points of view!
