[The first thing Daneca Wasserman does is the absolute last thing she should do.]
[She panics.]
[Something is wrong and she knows it. This room isn't hers. Not the ones she recognizes and remembers anyway. And yet this is her cabin. She checked six - no seven - times.]
[So Daneca panics and then immediately vanishes out of sight.]
No, no, stupid, [she mutters, berating herself as she hurries down the hall, footsteps reverberating off the walls. Normally Daneca would just hide out in her room until she could calm down, but her room isn't there.]
[She throws herself down in a chair in the common room, hugging her knees and trying to take as little space as possible. Maybe if she just keeps repeating to herself over and over again quietly that it's okay she'll believe it eventually.]
[Daneca does gradually come back into view, head buried in her knees, once she manages to calm herself down enough with some deep breathing.]
voice.
[Once she's visible again, Daneca tries her room again. It's still the same - not right, that it is - but she can do this. She just needs to find out what's going on with other people.]
How many people have found their rooms aren't what they remember it to be?
((ooc: daneca is now from haven! her trouble is becoming invisible when she's stressed/anxious. you can still hear her though and see what she's interacting with, but otherwise she's completely invisible.))

[His eyes don't follow her movement immediately: he's relying on sound to guess, and it all comes a fraction later than it would have were she visible.]
Must be a pain in the arse super power, if you can't even control it.

[Daneca freezes a little once she realizes what she's done, but she's not about to start groveling or anything like that. She can only hope he maybe doesn't notice or doesn't get ticked off or something. Just generally, she'd prefer it if he didn't make a big deal about it.]
It's my Trouble, okay. I know you don't care about it, so stop asking.

Temper, temper. [He holds up his hands innocently.]
I can't ask questions now? That's rather rude, don't you think?

[Daneca crosses her arms, rubbing at one of them with a hand.]

[He sticks out his hand, slightly off because he's not sure how tall she is.]
I'm James. Now we don't have to be strangers.

Daneca.

Well, Daneca, you're very rude.

[He leans forward just a little, whispering conspiratorially.]
Are you?

I'm still here, aren't I?
no subject
Almost.

[She's trying so desperately to be brave and not to give into that fear a predator like him puts into her.]

He's not really hungry, yet, but she doesn't have to know that.]
It's not that part.

Are you sure? Because you sound a bit terrified.
