[Daneca comes to easily enough and at first, it doesn't set right in that she's been asleep for all this time. It's not until she picks up the communicator that she notices the disparity in time and covers her mouth in silent shock. Daneca spends time flipping through some of the network posts as she is wont to always do her research/homework.]

[Timidly, she turns the feed on.]

So, um, I obviously missed a few things. I was in one of those comas and from the looks of it for about a month. Sorry if I worried anyone. I think I'm okay though. I don't feel groggy or anything like that, which is weird. I'm glad things were relatively quiet for around here. No zombies or anything like that.

[She smiles faintly.]

Anyway, I guess we also have some new people while I was out. My name's Daneca. Sorry I wasn't able to say hi when you first arrived.

Are you okay?

[The underlying question being, of course, did you do anything stupid while she was out cold.]

I saw the network. Are you... Do you need anything?

I'm really sorry if you needed me at all while I was asleep. You're okay, right?

I mean, I'm okay. I just missed having you around. And, you know, conscious. You're welcome for not drawing on your face, by the way.

[He's torn. He's so glad when she wakes up, and he wants to grin and go see here. But that would be half a lie, and he's so bad at that, at least with people he cares about.

So he chews the inside of his cheek for a moment, and when he turns the feed on, he just shrugs.]

No, I'm - I'm not okay, I guess, but.

[God, this is so hard to articulate. He just shakes his head.]

I'll be okay. What about you? Are you sure you feel okay?

[Daneca nods.]

Yeah, I feel a little off-kilter knowing I was out for a month, but I mean, no sick feelings or anything like that.

[There's a small moment of silence as she rubs her arm. She's not sure how to really go from here or how much she should ask. Whatever happened, it was major and she doesn't want to reopen or rehash something he's trying to process and put behind him.]

I saw you went home... How long were you there? There, I mean. Not here. Obviously not that much time passed here.

Yeah, it was weird. It was almost a year, I think. I didn't really count it out, I guess. [He knows exactly how she feels. He doesn't want it to be awkward with her. He doesn't want it to be uncomfortable. For a moment, he lapses into that silence, too, then he goes with the very first idea to come to mind.]

Do you wanna get out of there? I mean - I'm kinda tired of staring at my room, and I'd be like, itching to get out if I was asleep for a month.

[Daneca perks a little at the suggestion. She isn't actually going stir-crazy just yet being in her room since she was asleep for most of her time in it, but it would be nice to have a chance to stretch her legs. And maybe talking in person will be a little easier than this.]

[So this is Daneca. He'd heard a little about her from Cassel, and more from Scott. Although he's still not quite feeling like himself, he wants to meet her anyway, even if it's just over video. Then again maybe considering his history with the girls back home that Scott's liked, he should really just avoid? This is so not his strong suit.]

Yeah, we sort of have an unspoken life-long pact about not telling people each other's embarrassing stories. We have way too much potential blackmail on one another it'd be bad for both of us if one of us broke it.
